Linking Wellbeing to Investment Performance

“Fund bets happier workers produce healthier returns” reported the FT yesterday.

US research firm ‘Irrational Capital’ has come up with a new approach to stock picking that is very different from the traditional metrics based purely on financials. The new system select companies based on how happy the workers are.

An innovative and positive development which in our view is likely to produce a higher yield.

The article also brings up two issues: employee satisfaction and its relationship with wellbeing, and if there is enough evidence for the happy working being a productive worker.

There is no doubt in our mind that there is strong evidence for the positive relationship between wellbeing and productivity.

There are a lot of new studies pointing to support such evidence, and we will return to this subject soon, and share our insights soon.
